Cannabis Care App
Digital Prototyping | User Research

Team: eo Care

Background: eo, a cannabis healthcare company, was developing a digital care platform. The platform has a unique 10-day onboarding flow for patients. Leadership was worried that this flow might be confusing for patients, and that they might drop out of the flow early and fail to receive their care. eo wanted to understand if this concern was grounded in reality.

Challenge: How might eo gain a better understanding of whether patients find the onboarding process intuitive or not?

Building the Prototype
The goal of this project was to understand how users felt about the onboarding flow of eo's online care platform. However, the care platform's web app was still in development and months away from being complete. So, I built a prototype of the web app in Figma in which I simulated the onboarding flow.

The prototype was high-fidelity – all navigation features were fully functional and everything was fully animated. I include green screens with text to simulate time passing during the onboarding flow, which take about 10 days in real time.
The Test
I used Userlytics to perform usability testing of my prototype online. I explained the care platform to testers, gave them a few simple instructions, and then observed them as they went through the flow. Afterwards, I had a recording of their screen and voice to refer to during my analysis.

Findings
After analyzing the tests results, I put together a brief slide deck to illustrate my findings. I presented this to the Chief Experience Officer and Head Designer, and we are working on implementing changes to the onboarding flow based off these findings.
